Launched in 2008 with a pioneering economic model, Mediapart has become a pillar of the media landscape in France thanks to its revelations, investigations, reports and analyses.

Our team

Mediapart is created every day by more than 130 permanent employees, supplemented by around fifty occasional employees, freelancers, artists, authors located in France and abroad, from all professional backgrounds and from different backgrounds.

Vigilant defense of equal rights

Since our creation, we have defined ourselves as radically democratic, that is to say, faithful to the fundamental promise of equality of rights, without distinction of condition, origin, appearance, belief or gender.

Our democratic mission is to give you back what is yours: information that allows you, as citizens, to exercise your right to review the decisions made in your name.

By revealing what is denied, hidden or ignored, our ambition is to hold the powerful accountable, to make the invisible visible and to give meaning to the world around us.

This quest is more relevant than ever to give everyone the means to remain free in their speech and choices, to intervene in public debate, to find their place in society and to act by being master and mistress, actor and actress of their destiny, both individual and collective.

Our investigations aim not only to denounce dysfunctions, corruption and abuses of power, but also to provoke awareness that calls for reforms, even ruptures.

We wish, through our revelations, to make possible action against the indifference and resignation that threaten our society, so that it does not give up fighting against the dominations inherited from the past.
